Jesús Armand is a Brooklyn and Boston-based multimedia artist, fine art and commercial photographer and former professional ballet dancer. A lifelong student of art, he studied photo under David Hilliard and Todd Papageorge while an undergrad at Yale (BA, Political Science).
In art his passion lies in storytelling and exploring "the how," be it physically, conceptually or politically. He creates work that explores technical aspects--light, composition, post-production--as much as it examine the particularities of its subjects.
On the fine art side, he's working on the critically-acclaimed series Dance Prints, hot off a successful Kickstarter campaign, and which has received writes-up from the Art Director's Club, the Daily Mail, PBS Arts and the Huffington Post. The series has been hailed as ground-breaking by arts educators for its ability to visually communicate dance to new audiences and students. He's also working on a photographic novel, a multi-media satirical pop-art website, and a few series of self-portraits that explore social perception.
On the commercial side, he creates editorial, ad and social media work for clients ranging from non-profits like the Partnership for a Healthier NYC to mega-corporations like Intel and Microsoft. For commercial and editorial commissions, he represents himself and can be contacted at info -(a)- jarmandstudio.com
